PROMUS Katowice provides laser cutting services of low-alloyed, high-alloyed, stainless and aluminum steel sheets. Laser cutting is a process that allow to cut complex components quickly and ensures the highest quality of cut and precision of execution.

We offer services performed with Mazak Super Turbo – X 510 Mark III laser of 4 kW power, allowing us to cut sheets with the max. dimensions of 3050×1525 mm.

Maximum cutting width:

  • low- and high-alloyed steel: up to 25 mm,
  • stainless steel: up to 15 mm,
  • aluminum: up to 12 mm.

Cutting quality depends on chemical composition of the material and degree of complexity of the given workpiece.

We cut workpieces from both our own material and from the material delivered by the Customers.

Advantages of laser cutting

Laser cutting is an extremely efficient method and allows to obtain very good effects. The most important advantages of laser cutting include:

  • The possibility to process various types of materials,
  • the highest quality of processing – laser cutting ensures high accuracy and quality of executed components,
  • material saving – laser cutting limits material losses, what results from the narrow cutting gap,
  • short lead times – laser cutting allows cutting with high speeds and maintaining the highest quality,
  • possibility to cut based on the drawings delivered in various formats – the customer may deliver drawings in *.dwg and *.dxf file formats prepared in the CAD designing software.

The huge advantage of laser cutting machines is that they are able to execute also other tasks such as: marking for material identification purposes or adding central punching points.

How is the laser cutting performed?

Materials are cut with a laser beam, which is characterized by coherence in time and space. Such beam allows to focus energy in the given spot and therefore enables a very precise cut of the given surface. Laser cutting can be done by melting and blowing of the material, evaporation, burning or forming thermal cracks.
